Knižku som dostal ako darček a bol som na ňu zvedavý , o čom to vlastne celé je. Keďže som vedec a biológ, tak som, s náznakom skepsy, bral do rúk túto publikáciu.
Kontrolky mi vystrelili viac razy. Prvýkrát na strane 49: "v mojej terapeutickej praxi som sa stretla s mladou ženou, ktorá niekoľko mesiacov nejedla."
To ako vážne?
Ďalej autorka píše: "bez jedla sa dá žiť, bez čchi však nie." Tu som už prestal tomuto dielku veriť úplne a začal som to brať ako čiste ezoterickú literatúru. O to viac ma ohromuje, že knihu odborne posudzovala MUDr. Hrošová. Neviem, buď ju nečítala pozorne, alebo neviem. Naozaj neviem.
Na stranách okolo 60 autorka menuje orgány čchi, ale nejakým záhadným spôsobom úplne vynechá mozog a miechu (žeby priznačná metafora, pre celú túto knihu?!).
Na str 97 sa píše: "... dožívalo by sa v zdraví 120 rokov. Takého veku sa dožívali taoisti, ktorí sa svojou čchi vedome pracovali." Tu by so bol rád za nejaký citovaný zdroj.
Ono sa celá kniha tvári ako odborná až takmer vedecká publikácia, jedná sa však o čistú ezoteriku.
Aby som však len nehanil. Vyskytuje sa tu zopár zaujímavých kulinárskych receptov, a niektoré rady sú naozaj užitočné. No na to, aby človek rozlíšil, čo je a nie je užitočné, potrebuje určité vedomosti a kritické myslenie a nie som si istý, či každý čitateľ tejto knihy nimi aj disponuje.
Neodvážim sa hodnotiť hviezdičkami. Tak len takto slovne. Jedná sa o ezoteriku a nie odbornú literatúru alebo nebodaj návod na život...
Po prvých troch častiach som mal asi väčšie očakávania, ktoré žiaľ ostali nenaplnené. Keďže som predošlé časti čítal pred rokmi, úvod by si možno zaslúžil bohatejšiu synopsiu, čo sa udialo predtým.
Úvod je pomerne nudný, väčšej akcie som s dočkal až neskôr. Autor takisto necháva pomerne dôležité postavy zgegnúť (napr. Jorka) akoby len tak. Zaslúžili by si možno emotívnejši koniec, ktorý by viac strhol čitateľa. Línia ohľadom Leifovho syna ja relatívne zanedbaná, čo je na škodu. V pohode by som prijal román hoci aj o 400 stranách. Takto len 3*.
Po prečítaní Prachového mužíčka som sa vrhol na Prasa.
Keďže ide o román a nie zbierku poviedok, tu sa mi bude „názorovať“ bez spoilerov o dosť ťažšie. Takže niečo budem musieť z diania v knihe vám prezradiť. Vynasnažím sa však čo najmenej.

Detaily už čoskoro na fantasy knihách multiverza.
Poviedky zväčšia krátke, úderné, delené do odsekov, čo príjemne uľahčuje čítanie. Štylistika je dobrá, miestami výborná. Príbehy v sebe skrývajú rôzne chute hororu, takže si fanúšik tohto žánru rozhodne príde na svoje. Ďakujem za recenzný výtlačok vydavateľstvu Artis Omnis Celková známka 8/10.

The anthology – from Fantasy Award 2015 is opened by a foreword of Ruzena and Ivan Alaksa where they summarize the short-story competition and partially reviewed the selected works.
Some words about my feelings to the published stories (without spoilers):
Flash of nectarine taste, Smell of the fractal ferns: strange story full of fiction magic and illusions. One needs to think pretty hard to comprehend it. It’s well written but did I get in it? I’m not sure. 4/5
Musical composition: It’s not easy to write a short story on small space well (regarding the point). Here, the author succeeded to do it. 5/5
Prospects of life: I like the atmosphere of the story. But had to read it twice and I’m not still clear about the relationships mentioned there. Was Andy her son? Has Devisha just imagined it all? 4/5
A tad late, but thanks anyway: strange very short story after which is the anthology named (I know the reason why), is about objects falling down “chronologically” from the sky without any trying to discuss this phenomenon. It’s like an anecdote. Interestingly, the word about the author is nearly longer than the story itself. 2/5
Hard: I am glad that this "postapo" story won the competition. Well deserved. It’s got everything what an excellent story should have and I enjoyed it. 6/5
Home: I appreciate the surprising horror ending in this “merciful” short tale. 3-4/5
Hunting seagulls: I am a bit confused by this tale. I was looking for a significant fantastic – fiction feature and did not find any. I find it all like from the real world. Why is this in the book? 3/5
All the little baby girls: Well written dark fantasy story about mystic silent creatures with intense plot and interesting characters. The end is opened 4-5/5.
The decision: Long after I read this tale, I thought what it was about. I find it strange, hardly to believe Dave’s motivation to join the project. The project is not explained and author kept it for himself. Many question marks here. 2/5
Look up, at the skies: what was this about? Another strange story, this time it is about “artists” who can manipulate the clouds with their inner power? I had really problem to keep my concentration to finish the reading. Subjectively, it was very boring for me. 1/5
Bloody bones: horror about little rascals who fucked up the relation to their teacher. Let’s play a game of revenge. Wait the revenge is not sweet but really bloody one. You will see. 4-5/5.
Right: bizarre tale about possible retrospective abortion. I am still not totally convinced about the characters and their reasons of doing, motivation and outcome of the situation. 3-4/5
Out of sacred water: The master of Slavic fantasy joined this anthology and I am very happy with it. To translate such tales into English is not an easy job. But here, it is done well. I am hoping that other Rogan’s stories will be translated and therewith the broad international audience could be reached with those fairy tales of high Slavic fantasy world. 5/5
At the end, the scientist, marsonaut and crew commander, Michaela Musilova (a juror in the story competition that year) revealed some hidden adventures from the marsonauts training in the American desert.
Generally, the collection contains diverse stories with fluctuated quality but I think that every reader can find some tales entertaining. It is the second book from this promising project and I really appreciate the administrators and cheer them up that they will continue in it. 4/5
This anthology contains fiction stories from more or less already well known Czech authors, therefore I was curious to read their works written in English.
The editor and author Julie Novakova opens and closes the collection with her intro and afterword essay and the contributor Rachel Cordasco added her afterword to prize those works as a possible opener for Czech authors into English speaking market.
Herewith my humble opinion on the stories without spoilers (hopefully):
The Dragon Star: I got very mixed feelings from this story. It is like a kaleidoscope of various pictures which do not stick together. The sentences are too complicated (maybe the chosen translation language harmed the original story) and the story-line is chaotic. I have to admit it bored me to the bones. 2-3/5
The real one: sad story about the future which could really happen. On the relatively small space, the author told us a tale in two levels pointing out the whereabouts of unwanted people and how they end. 4/5
Axes on Viola: a bit weird sci-fi full of repetitive environment descriptions that did not help to my imagination. A map will be more helpful or even desired. I cannot very well visualize what is happening (not only environment but the action) in the story as well. The story-lines and heroes doing are sinking into logical holes. The English here is a bit strange and complicated for me. 2-3/5
War games: finally, an excellent sci-fi military story told from the views of three characters in different personal situations and levels. I like the twist at the end as well. Moreover, the translation is fluent and easy to comprehend. 5/5
Winning is not everything: well written and another very sad tale about possible future (maybe present as well) sports and the greed of sponsors. 4/5
Creators: hard space opera about the secrets of wormholes set mostly on dialog between two scientists during interstellar travel. 5/5
The symphony of ice and dust: good classy space opera about expedition to “unknown” planet. However, still many causal questions remained non-addressed after the reading. 4/5
Mycelium : an excerpt (pity that it is too short) of the Mycelium saga just offered a brief insight into its environment. However, this chosen translated part is not so easy to visualize. The description in the postscript is quiet helpful. 3/5
Spark of thought: what?! An alternative history about famous Nikola and very famous writer (I will not blab out his name here - read yourselves) placed in Victorian Prague, sex and passion included. 4/5
Hexagramaton: I've read this story in original Czech some years ago and I have to admit that I was lost then as I’m now. Maybe the physic could work but not the biological part of it. Simply, I do not believe it. The motivations of characters are weak and non-logical. The visualization is not working for me at all. I just did not understand. 2/5

Po siedmych rokoch sa Saš Pavelková a Martin Roger Králik, spoločne s vydavateľstvom Artis Omnis, odhodlali znova osloviť fantastické autorky i autorov a dať dokopy výber poviedok. Treba poznamenať, že predošlý Čas hrdinov sa beznádejne vypredal, čo je na slovenský domáci žánrový trh skvelá správa.
Zloženie autorov sa proti Času hrdinov 1 značne odlišuje, bola prizvaná mladá, či nová krv. Stálice slovenskej fantastickej scény sú prezentované Jurajom Červenákom a už spomenutou Alexandrou Pavelkovou. V predslove sumarizuje Martin Roger Králik minulé antológie fantastiky a porovnáva so súčasnou.

Majstrom slovenskej fantastiky sa antológia začína a Lady fantasy ju uzatvára. Je v tom možno niečo symbolické. Väčšina poviedok je veľmi kvalitných, no pár ich zaostáva. Ale to je len môj pohľad. Možno vám sa budú páčiť práve tie. Hor sa do čítania!
Celková známka 8/10 alebo 4/5*.
Útla knižka (pokojne by mohla pribrať na objeme a váhe) je vhodná pre čitateľov napínavej ale oddychovej literatúry. Štylisticky je to vydarené. Autorke sa podarilo zakomponovať aj tú spomenutú víťaznú poviedku z Martinus Ceny Fantázie, dokonca hodila laso na tvorbu svojej kolegyne - Soyky.
Dej má spád, je to napínavé a prečítate to na jeden dúšok. Mihne sa aj filozofovanie. Logika zakopne len zriedka.
Fandíte kvázi zápornému nekromantovi, ktorý je však v porovnaní s tými, čo ho obklopujú, vlastne dobrák. Hoc cynik, ironik, sarkastik, ale dobrák.
Záver som asi očakával iný a začlenenie emzákov ma pomerne prekvapilo.
Ja som sa naozaj bavil za 5*. Rád si prečítam pokračovanie.
Dočítal som poslednú ženu, čo povedať?
Bol to odvážny projekt, do ktorého sa pustili Zuzana Hloušková, Františka Vrbenská a spol a dovolím si povedať, že sa vydaril. Hoci v súčasnosti už deliť SF poviedky a tvorbu dženderovo na XX a XY nemá veľký zmyseľ, nakoľko mnohokrát, ak by sme čítali dielo anonymne, nevedeli by sme už s istotou povedať, či to písala žena alebo muž.
Žena s labutí je vydarené zavŕšenie tetralógie poviedok od dám českej a slovenskej fantastiky a určite nie je tou povestnou labuťou piesňou v ich tvorbe.

Od autorky som doposiaľ čítal kvalitné poviedky, preto som bol zvedavý na jej románový debut.
Som spokojný. Náročky nebudem spojlerovať, ale môžem vám to len doporučiť.
Nič podobné z takého prostredia, aké mi nalinkovala tu, som nečítal.
Štylisticky je to kvalitne vycibrené.
Príbeh je pekne posplietaný, napínavý, dostatočne krvavý ba až surový.
Mušky? Trošku ma zarazil záver a to, ako prebehol, ako bol zdemolobaný objekt osláv (žeby by sa to v skutočnosti mohlo udiať tak, ako prezradila autorka, dosť pochybujem), že hlavný hrdina prežil mi prišlo tiež pomerne fantaskné. Ale možno si ho chce autorka uchovať pre ďalšie príbehy.
Celkovo 4,5*.
