Velykodnia klasyka

We invite you to a fascinating journey through the unexplored spaces of Ukrainian classics. Discover its peaks and depths, find the points of contact between the past and the present. The Easter bell has been ringing in the Ukrainian cultural tradition from ancient times to the present, and each time it sounds with new overtones. This anthology contains prose works by thirty-three authors and poems by twelve authors who present Easter as a text, from Hryhoriy Skovoroda to the end of the twentieth century. The Easter text tells of life, death, and immortality. It is about sacrifice, forgiveness and redemption. About absolute defeat and undeniable victory. It is about faith, hope and love. Easter is not only a great theme, but also a great code: a great mystery, a symbolic message and a key to understanding. The resurrection from the dead transforms animal existence into a meaningful human existence, gives it meaning and opens a window to the future.
