Language in Use is a four level course for adults and young adults. Each level contains about 80 hours of classwork with additional work in the self-study workbook. The teacher's book contains the student's book pages interleaved with teaching notes which offer support and guidance as well as optional activities designed for different abilities. Original tasks are designed to elicit personal student contributions.

The course is flexible and can be tailored to the needs of mixed ability classes. It contains alternate grammar and vocabulary teaching units.
