State-Church Relations in Europe

The key topic of this book, in attendance of relevant experts from Slovakia and some representative member states of the Council of Europe, as well as from other countries, should be the discussion about the character of a modern democratic society, relating also the respect for human rights, including freedom of conscience and religion, and resulting in the accent on the best arrangement of the mutual relationship between state and churches and religious societies.The volume from the conference deals with topical problems and appeals in the sphere of relations between state and churches, or between civic society and religious ideologies, which the contemporary united Europe is to face with; and with regard to the growing tension resulting from misunderstanding of cultural and religious differences in multicultural communities, also the issue of religious minorities and the field of interreligious dialogue being one of the inevitable answers to the religious extremism.
